University basic research in the field of automotive and engine engineering
The Institute of Internal Combustion Engines and Automotive Engineering IVK is part of the Department of Design, Production and Automotive Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and is concerned with research and teaching in the area of Automotive Engineering. In cooperation with the Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart (FKFS), basic university research is combined with applied contract research. The institute is also home to the Racing-,Green- and Driverless-Team from the University of Stuttgart, who are very successfully developing student and autonomous racing cars for the Formula Student competition.
