Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Wagner took over the Chair of Automotive Engineering at the Institute for Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines IFS at the University of Stuttgart on 1 March 2019. He succeeds Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jochen Wiedemann.
Born in 1974 in Krumbach, Wagner studied automotive engineering and worked for 16 years in the development department of Audi AG, most recently as a member of senior management. Among other things, he held leading positions in the areas of "Development of air conditioning units", "Chassis concepts characteristics", "C/D SUV/Crossover series, Chassis & Automated Driving" and "Virtual development and validation of automated driving". Mr. Wagner received numerous awards, such as the Kamm-Jante-Medal from the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Kraftfahrzeug und Motorentechnik WKM, the ECARA-Award from the European Car Aerodynamics Research Association.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Wagner received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart in 2003 in the field of prediction of subjective evaluation of vehicle-dynamic and aerodynamic interactions from driver-vehicle interaction before starting his industrial career at AUDI AG. With stations in aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, air conditioning and property development of chassis concepts via series responsibility for chassis and automated driving and finally project management for virtual development and validation of automated driving, Andreas Wagner has an outstanding spectrum of qualifications to offer and guarantees perfect coverage with the competence fields of the institute.
